The Rivercrest Class of 1975 celebrated their 50th reunion in true Colt fashion by giving back. In appreciation of their alma mater, they presented a donation of $1,000 check to the Rivercrest Colts Foundation to support future facility improvements and student success. Exciting Leadership News at Rivercrest! The Rivercrest School Board has approved some leadership updates for the upcoming school year: Mr. Peyton Milligan will now serve as Principal for PreK–4, bringing energy and a heart for early learning. Mrs. Dixie Reeves will transition to Principal for Grades 5–8, helping students navigate the important move from elementary to junior high. Mr. William Burfield will continue as Principal for Grades 9–12. Grades 5–6 will remain in the Elementary building. Grades 7–8 will stay in the Junior High building. We’re excited about the year ahead and the strong team leading the way.

We’re thrilled to announce that Art Teacher Merideth Elder will be offering an AP Art class for 9-12 students passionate about Visual Art. This course is perfect for students who truly enjoy creating and want to explore future opportunities in the arts.
AP Drawing -Introductory college-level drawing course. Refine and apply drawing skills to ideas developed throughout the course. This is a College Board Advanced Placement course.
And don’t worry Mrs. Elder will still be teaching Elementary Art too!

Did You Know?
In 2024–2025, Rivercrest High School students earned over 500 college credits through Arkansas Northeastern College!
83 students took advantage of college-level courses, and 30 Tech Center students earned at least one college credit, setting themselves up for success after graduation.
This is just one of many opportunities at Rivercrest. When combined with an H2 (High Demand, High Skill) Pathway, students may qualify for a Diploma of Merit or Diploma of Distinction, giving them a competitive edge for college, careers, or the military.

Bell to Bell, No Cell: A new student cell phone policy will be in place for the upcoming 25-26 school year. Students will be prohibited from using displaying personal electronic devices - including cell phones, smartwatches, earbuds, and similar items during instructional time - from the first bell to the last. Rivercrest is proud to announce the addition of Volleyball to our athletics program beginning 2025-2026!
We’re also thrilled to welcome Caley Felts as our Head Volleyball Coach! Coach Felts is an experienced volleyball player with a strong competitive background and a passion for mentoring young athletes. She brings energy, knowledge, and a commitment to building a strong foundation for our program.
We will launch with a Junior High team for 7th and 8th grade girls during the inaugural year.

The Osceola Health Department will offer a Back to School immunization clinic on Tuesday, July 29, 9:30am-6:00pm. (PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF LATE CLINIC HOURS OF OPERATION). If you have questions about immunization records, please call and the clinic will research records to see if immunizations are needed and schedule an appointment. 870-563-2521

The RHS competition cheer team was invited to the Wilson City Council May meeting. Mayor Becton Bell presented them with a proclamation stating that May 20, 2025 was Rivercrest High School Competition Cheer Team Day.
We are so thankful for the support of our community and consider ourselves very blessed to be able to represent Rivercrest and Mississippi County throughout the year.
