Rivercrest had the privilege of hosting the NEA Regional Career and Technical Education Showcase today. CTE students and teachers hosted visitors from several other school districts, educational co-ops, and state education. They shared what they are learning and what the future looks like for Rivercrest CTE programs!

Mrs. Dina’s Reading Rainbows celebrated Read Across America Week today in the library. They made bookworm bookmarks to use in their newest books they checked out today.
Students in Mrs. McClung's Keystone class played the Bean Game in class. It is an activity where students learn to budget needs vs wants.
Students in Ms. Teague's and Ms. Benson's 7th Grade Career Development classes are getting to use Virtual Reality to help explore various careers. We want to thank CRESC for providing these VR headsets to us for the next couple of weeks.

Mrs. Lancaster, Rivercrest Media Specialist, proposed a reading challenge during the month of February for the junior and senior high school faculty and staff. Those who accepted were placed in a drawing for a gift basket valued at $185. Congratulations to the winner, Addie Pittman! Mrs. Pittman teaches 8th grade English. Mrs. Lancaster wants to thank all who accepted the reading challenge.
After school tutoring for today, March 4 has been canceled due to forecasted inclement weather.
The Jostens rep will be on campus tomorrow, March 5 to deliver senior package orders and pass out rings to juniors and seniors. He will be in the auditorium at 8am. Parents are welcome to come.
It’s easier than ever to access detailed information about your child’s ATLAS
performance. The ATLAS Family Portal includes results of your child’s performance on all ATLAS tests. It includes their overall score and how well they are learning important skills and content in each subject, so it’s easier to understand where they are doing well and
where they may need more support. You can access resources to support learning at home and guide discussions with your child’s teacher.

RHS students Ty, David, and Bobby competed in the Arkansas All-Region Coding Competition on Friday. They competed against students from around the state for a spot in the State competition. We are proud of them for taking on this challenge and excited to continue building our Computer Programming Pathway, which was started this year. Special thank you to their Instructor, Mr. Pittman, for preparing them for this competition.
A group of 7th and 8th grade students recently attended an educational field trip to Arkansas Northeastern College, where they participated in interactive sessions focused on personal growth and making positive life choices. The students explored important topics such as dealing with emotions, resisting peer pressure, staying drug and vape-free, and understanding the impact of social media. They also discussed how the choices they make today can shape their future and the importance of making good decisions.
Rivercrest School District has an opening for a 5th grade ELA teacher for the 2025-26 school year.

Some measures focus on students’ growth and progress while others, like ATLAS, show whether your child has met grade level standards. Review your child’s ATLAS scores alongside classroom tests and quizzes, report card grades, and input from the teacher to get a more complete picture of how your child is performing academically. Rivercrest School District will participate in the ATLAS Summative Assessment during the middle of April and early May.

We are thrilled to share that our 6th-grade GT students recently participated in the Chess Tournament at Arkansas State University, where they showcased their strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and sportsmanship! Our students demonstrated incredible teamwork and perseverance, whether they won or faced tough challenges. The experience not only helped to enhance their chess skills but also taught them valuable lessons about competition, patience, and the importance of continuous learning.
