Both teams were strong on the bump on Wednesday, but Rivercrest Varsity Colts defeated Gosnell Varsity Pirates 3-0. Joe Louis Ralph started the game for Rivercrest Varsity Colts and recorded 21 outs.
Ralph struck out 10 batters on the day. The starting pitcher also allowed two hits and zero runs over seven innings while walking three.
A single by lan McClain put Rivercrest Varsity Colts on the board in the top of the third.
McClain went 2-for-3 at the plate as the right-handed hitter led the team with two runs batted in. Rivercrest Varsity Colts stole four bases in the game.

Despite seeing their 5-run lead whittled down by the end, Rivercrest held on for an 8-7 victory. Harrisburg closed the gap by scoring on a walk, a walk, an error, a home run, and a balk.
The Colts made the score 4-1 in the bottom of the second after Conner Vaughn singled, scoring one run, and lan McClain doubled, scoring three runs.
Rivercrest extended their early lead with two runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI singles by Jacob Atchley and Vaughn.
Vaughn began the game for the Colts. The left-handed pitcher allowed three hits and three runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking seven.
Jaxon Kilburn appeared in relief for Rivercrest.
The Colts amassed 10 hits in the game. Atchley, Gabe McLevain, and Vaughn each collected two hits. McClain went 1-for-4 at the plate as they led the team with three runs batted in. Rivercrest turned one double play in the game.
The Colts will face the Gosnell Pirates in the District championship game.
Brooklyn Moore collected four hits in four at bats, as the Lady Colts defeated Harrisburg 15-0 on Tuesday at Gosnell during the 3A-3 District Tournament. Moore tripled in the third inning, doubled in the fourth inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the second inning. An error put Rivercrest on the board in the bottom of the first. They added two runs in the second after Harrisburg committed an error. The Lady Colts scored six runs on five hits in the bottom of the third inning. Molli Austin doubled, scoring two runs, Mary Jo Booker singled, scoring two runs, Moore tripled, scoring one run, and Karlee Cullom grounded out, scoring one run.
Rivercrest scored six runs on six hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Booker singled, scoring one run, Carleigh Williams singled, scoring two runs, Moore doubled, scoring one run, Cullom singled, scoring one run, and Chesnee Chandler singled, scoring one run. Laynee Gardner began the game. The righty gave up two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out eight and walking one. Rivercrest collected 16 hits in the game. Booker led the Lady Colts with three runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Austin, Cullom, Williams, and Chandler each collected multiple hits for Rivercrest.

Chesnee Chandler drove in eight runs on four hits to lead Rivercrest Lady Colts past Harrisburg 22-0 on Tuesday. Chandler doubled in the first scoring two, singled in the first scoring two, singled in the second scoring two, and doubled in the third scoring two. Rivercrest jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Morris induced Ella Gonzalez to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Chandler doubled, scoring two runs, Raven Powell singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, an error scored two runs, Morris induced Brooklyn Moore to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Gonzalez singled, scoring one run, and Chandler singled, scoring two runs. Taylor Routledge hit a 2 RBI triple.
The Lady Colts scored six runs on seven hits in the top of the second inning. Carleigh Williams hit an inside the park home run, scoring three runs, Halyn Belford singled, scoring one run, and Chandler singled, scoring two runs.
Rivercrest scored five runs on six hits in the top of the third inning. An error scored one run, Taylor Routledge grounded out, scoring one run, Jessica Lang singled, scoring one run, and Chandler doubled, scoring two runs. Katelyn Ostendorf started the game for the Lady Colts. The starting pitcher surrendered two hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out five and walking none. Rivercrest Lady Colts piled up 19 hits in the game. Powell, Williams, Mary Jo Booker, Gonzalez, and Moore each collected multiple hits for Rivercrest Lady Colts
Game Day!
Rivercrest Lady Colts were victorious against Kennett 9-4 on Senior Night. A single by H Mcatee put Kennett on the board in the top of the second. Rivercrest Lady Colts jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the second inning after Chesnee Chandler scored after tagging up, and Carleigh Williams doubled, each scoring one run.
The Lady Colts flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fifth, scoring five runs on three hits to take a 7-2 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Karlee Cullom that drove in two.
Laynee Gardner led things off in the circle. The right-handed pitcher gave up eight hits and four runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out two and walking one. Cullom, Mary Jo Booker, and Ella Gonzalez each collected two hits for Rivercrest. Raven Powell and Gonzalez each drove in two runs. Chandler stole three bases. The Lady Colts stole four bases in the game.
Gabe McLevain drove in four runs on three hits to lead Rivercrest Varsity Colts past Corning 12-1 on Monday at Rivercrest.
McLevain singled in the fourth inning, scoring two runs, and doubled in the fifth inning, scoring two. The Colts won thanks in part to seven runs in the fourth inning. Ashtin Cagle doubled, scoring three runs, Jayden Ralph doubled, scoring one run, Joe Louis Ralph singled, scoring one run, and McLevain singled, scoring two runs.
Rivercrest scored five runs on one hit in the bottom of the fifth inning. A passed ball scored one run, Jaxon Kilburn drew a walk, scoring one run, and McLevain doubled, scoring two runs.
Ralph stepped on the mound first for Rivercrest. The right-handed pitcher allowed three hits and one run over five innings, striking out three and walking one.
Mrs. Grider’s fourth grade students looked at various household item labels and sorted the items by weight/mass and liquid volume.
