Students in Mrs. Mofield's Kindergarten class enjoyed being outside and listening to The Tiny Seed by Eric Clarke. Afterwards, they used magnifying glasses to investigate spiders, ants, and frogs.

GAME RECAP: Rivercrest Colts beat Harrisburg Hornets 6-5 on Friday after taking the lead late in the game. The game was tied at five in the bottom of the fifth when Gabe McLevain scored after tagging up. Rivercrest jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning after Jacob Atchley scored after tagging up, Joe Louis Ralph singled, and Harrisburg pitcher balked, each scoring one run.
Ralph opened the game for the Colts. They gave up two hits and five runs over six innings, striking out 11 and walking three. They allowed two hits and five runs over three and one-third innings, striking out three and walking five. Conner Vaughn pitched one inning of shutout ball for Rivercrest relief. The southpaw allowed zero hits, striking out one and walking none.
Ralph drove the middle of the lineup, leading with two runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Ralph, McLevain, Keiran Morris, lan McClain, and Vaughn each collected one hit for the. Ralph stole two bases.
The Colts will play in the finals tomorrow, May 4 at 2:30.


In Coach Dye's Survey of Business class students have the opportunity to become certified as a Microsoft Office Pro. They are able to test and show proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. We want to congratulate David Burt, Mya Castellanos, Keira Holloway, and Hannah Higgins for earning this certification!

The Colts secured a spot in next week's state baseball tournament by defeating Cave City 1-0 in the opening game of the 3A-2 Regionals! You can catch the Colts in the semi-final round Friday, May 3 at noon where they will face the winner of the Melbourne-Harrisburg game.

Fourth grade students showed their school spirit by collecting coins to donate toward stocking the hospitality room for the event. Several baseball and softball players visited the students during recess and gratefully accepted the donation.

Rivercrest juniors heard from ANC and Big River Steel about the Steel Tech Academy opportunity. This program allows high school seniors to begin the two year program early and offers paid internships after graduation.
