Keiran Morris collected three hits in four at bats, as Rivercrest defeated Piggott 18-4 on Thursday. Morris hit a solo home run to left field in the seventh inning, doubled in the first inning, and singled in the fifth inning.
Rivercrest got on the board in the top of the first inning after Conner Vaughn scored after tagging up, Morris doubled, and Gabe McLevain walked, each scoring one run.
They added two runs in the second. lan McClain doubled, making the score 5-1.
The Colts scored six runs on four hits in the top of the seventh inning. Vaughn doubled, scoring two runs, Joe Lous Ralph tripled, scoring two runs, Jaxon Kilburn grounded out, scoring one run, and Morris hit a solo home run to left field.
Vaughn stepped on the hill first for Rivercrest. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and tour runs over six innings, striking out eight and walking three.
Ralph pitched one inning of no-run ball for Rivercrest in relief. They surrendered zero hits, striking out none and walking one. The Colts collected 16 hits in the game. Ashtin Cagle, the number eight hitter, led the way with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Ralph and Morris each collected three hits for the Colts. Ralph, McLevain, McClain, and Vaughn each collected multiple hits.
The Colts had patience at the plate, piling up 10 walks for the game. Ralph, Cagle, and McLevain led the team with two walks each. Rivercrest ran wild on the base paths, piling up six stolen bases for the game.
Game 1:
The bottom of the lineup helped the Rivercrest Lady Colts capture an 11-0 victory over Piggott on Thursday. Molli Austin, Carleigh Williams, and Mary Jo Booker combined for five of the team's 10 hits in the victory. They scored three runs and drove in four. Rivercrest scored runs in the first inning on the way to victory. Ella Gonzalez tripled, scoring two runs, Chesnee Chandler singled, scoring one run, Booker singled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run.
The Lady Colts added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Piggott committed an error, Austin doubled, Booker singled, Williams singled, and Taylor Routledge singled, each scoring one run. Laynee Gardner led things off in the circle. The right-handed pitcher surrendered two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out six and walking none.
Rivercrest collected 10 hits in the game. Booker led with three runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-2 on the day. Williams, Booker, and Chandler each collected two hits. Austin, Karlee Cullom, and Brooklyn Moore each stole multiple bases for the Lady Colts. Rivercrest ran wild on the base paths, tallying nine stolen bases for the game.
Game 2:
The Lady Colts scored four runs in the third inning, which helped them defeat Piggott 6-0 on Thursday. Brooklyn Moore singled, scoring one run, Laynee Gardner scored after tagging up, and a steal of home scored two runs. The Lady Colts got on the board in the top of the first inning after Moore singled, and Karlee Cullom grounded out, each scoring one run.
Gardner earned the win for Rivercrest. They gave up zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out two and walking none. Katelyn Ostendorf tossed one inning of shutout ball for Rivercrest in relief. They allowed zero hits, striking out two and walking none. Moore went 2-for-2 at the plate as the infielder led the team with two runs batted in. Cullom, Carleigh Williams, Mary Jo Booker, and Moore each stole multiple bases. Rivercrest stole 11 bases in the game. The Lady Colts turned two double plays in the game. They were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Molli Austin made the most plays with six.

Mrs. Benson's AP Environmental Science classes got to hear from Flint Richter and Jonathon Rasburry from Entegrity Energy Partners about solar energy and sustainability. The class got to see real data from our solar panels on campus as well as experiment with a solar energy kit.

Rivercrest Colts were the first to get on the board in the first when Conner Vaughn scored. Jaxon Kilburn opened the game for the Colts. The starting pitcher gave up two hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking two.

Rivercrest Lady Colts defeated Westside Warriors 8-2 on Tuesday thanks in part to five runs in the second inning. Chesnee Chandler singled, scoring one run, Mckyna Craig induced Mary Jo Booker to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Carleigh Williams grounded out, scoring one run, an error scored one run, and a passed ball scored another.
The Lady Colts added one run in the third after Molli Austin singled.
Laynee Gardner began the game for Rivercrest. The starting pitcher allowed nine hits and two runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out nine and walking two.
Chandler and Ella Gonzalez were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits while hitting back-to-back. Austin, Karlee Cullom, Williams, Booker, and Chandler each drove in one run for Rivercrest. Taylor Routledge stole two bases.

Rivercrest Lady Colts defeated Manila Lady Lions 18-1 on Monday thanks in part to 13 runs in the first inning. The Lady Colts got on the board in the top of the first inning after Karlee Cullom singled, scoring one run, Katelyn Ostendorf drew a walk, scoring one run, Molli Austin drew a walk, scoring one run, Raven Powell singled, scoring two runs, Addison Woodward doubled, scoring three runs, an error scored one run, Ostendorf doubled, scoring one run, Chesnee Chandler singled, scoring one run, and an error scored two runs. Rivercrest added one run in the second.
An error, a double by Powell, and an error helped Rivercrest extend their early lead in the third.
The Lady Colts accumulated 10 hits in the game. Powell led with three runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Chandler went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead in hits. The Lady Colts turned two double plays in the game. Rivercrest Lady Colts were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Taylor Routledge had the most chances in the field with three.
Ostendorf began the game for Rivercrest. She allowed four hits over three innings, striking out three.
Rivercrest easily dispatched Trumann on Friday, 12-1. A ground out by Jaxon Kilburn put the Colts on the board in the bottom of the first.
Rivercrest flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring six runs on two hits to take a 7-1 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Ashtin Cagle that drove in two.
Kilburn opened the game. The starting pitcher surrendered three hits and one run over four innings, striking out six and walking none.
The Colts' Cagle made the most of their chances at the plate. The number eight hitter led the team with two hits in three at bats. Ralph, Cagle, Ralph, Kilburn, Jacob Atchley, and McClain each drove in one run for Rivercrest.
Conner Vaughn paced the Colts with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game. Ralph stole two bases.
We are excited to have a new group of fourth grade students who accepted the challenge to read 100 books. They are now in the 100 Book Club. Congratulations!
Mrs. Cain's Fashion and Design class have been designing a photo backdrop that can be utilized by the students at Rivercrest High. They did a great job incorporating elements of design such as color, patterns and textures to create this beautiful design. Students feel free to take your picture in front of it whenever you have the chance!
