ACT Aspire testing will begin next week on Tuesday, April 18 and continue through Friday for 7th-10th graders. High school students should bring their Chromebooks charged and ready for testing. Junior High students will use the Chromebooks provided in class. Attendance is important each day of testing!

Rivercrest FBLA Middle School competed in state competition on April 3 in Little Rock. Gabrielle Harris and Bryleigh McClain made it to the second round in multimedia and website design. Abigail Castling, Kaylee Wood and Whitleigh Luff also made it to the second round in the video game design challenge. Tracey Bell, FBLA sponsor, would like to thank all the students for their dedication. Also, a special thanks to Whitleigh Luffs' family for all of their help during the last two years at competition.

The Colts asserted their will over East Poinsett County on their way to an easy 17-2 victory. Rivercrest put up eight runs in the sixth inning. The offensive firepower was led by Austin Elrod, Kevin Morris, Joe Louis Ralph, and Jaxon Kilburn, all knocking in runs in the inning. Elrod led things off on the hill for Rivercrest . The righty lasted six innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out 11 and walking one. The Colts socked one home run on the day. Morris put one out in the sixth inning. Rivercrest racked up 14 hits on the day. Keiron Morris, Kilburn, Jacob Atchley, and Conner Vaughn each collected multiple hits for Rivercrest Colts. Atchley, Kilburn, and Morris each managed three hits to lead the Colts.

Ten runs in the fourth inning led the Lady Colts past Armorel 18-2 on Tuesday. Rivercrest's offense in the inning was led by Jessica Lang, Gracie Rinderer, Karlee Cullom, Chesnee Chandler, Mary Jo Booker, and Annabelle Chandler, all driving in runs in the frame. The Lady Colts got on the board in the first inning when Booker singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. They put up ten runs in the fourth inning. The offensive firepower by was led by Lang, Rinderer, Cullom, Chandler, Booker, and Chandler, who all drove in runs. Laynee Gardner earned the win for Rivercrest. Gardner lasted three innings, allowing two hits and two runs while striking out five and walking one. Maggie Hensley threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. The Lady Colts collected 12 hits. Booker and Chandler all managed multiple hits for Rivercrest Lady Colts Varsity. Chandler and Booker all had two hits to lead Rivercrest.

Molli Austin, Chesnee Chandler, Carleigh Williams, Mary Jo Booker, Raven Powell, and Taylor Routledge all contributed in the big inning with RBIs. The Lady Colts pulled away for good with 11 runs in the second inning. In the second Austin singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs, Chandler singled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs, Williams singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run, Booker singled on a 3-2 count, scoring three runs, Powell singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run, Routledge grounded out, scoring one run, and Austin doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run. Crystal Sward walks it off in the bottom of the 5th with an RBI single. Dakota Rinderer got the start. She allowed three hits and four runs over four innings, striking out four. Rivercrest saw the ball well today, racking up ten hits in the game. Booker and Austin each had multiple hits for Rivercrest Lady Colts Varsity. Powell's Walk-off Gives Lady Colts Varsity Victory Over Corning The Lady Colts took Tuesday's game in dramatic fashion, with a 5-4 walk-off victory over Corning. The game was tied at four with Rivercrest batting in the bottom of the seventh when Raven Powell's sac fly scored one run. The Lady Colts earned the victory despite allowing Corning to score three runs in the third inning. Rivercrest got things started in the second inning. An error scored one run. Katelyn Ostendorf took the win for the Lady Colts. The pitcher lasted three and a third innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out three and walking zero. Dakota Rinderer started the game for Rivercrest. The hurler surrendered four runs on seven hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking zero. Mary Jo Booker led with two hits in three at bats.
