With the RHS boys defeating Episcopal in 1st round of state action, the Colts will now play on Friday at 8:30pm. Because there is an overwhelming number of students, faculty, staff, and parents who plan to attend the game, school will dismiss at 1PM on Fri., March 3.


Congrats to our Rivercrest Colts for taking down 1 seed Episcopal 63-56 in the first round of the 3A State Tournament. The Colts were led by freshmen Jayden Young with 29 points. Freshmen Frantavious Robinson and Buddah Harris poured in 10. Sophomore Cavonta Washington added 8. The Colts will play Friday, March 3rd at 8:30pm. GO COLTS!


Rivercrest Elementary celebrated 100 days of school today!






Students in GT, grades fourth through sixth, competed in a newspaper fashion show. Each grade had teams of 4-5 students. Each student had a job in creating their groups costume. There were 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places winners. Each team did a fantastic job!




Rivercrest Jr. High recently competed in the FBLA District. Bryleigh McClain and Gabrielle Harris won 5th place in Multimedia & Website Development. Whitliegh Luff placed 4th in Business Spelling.


Rivercrest High School earned the College Board AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award for expanding young women's access to AP Computer Science.
The honor acknowledges the work Rivercrest is doing to close the gender equity gap in computer science. Our school is one of only 209 schools to be recognized for achieving this award.


Mrs. George's 2nd grade class learned about 's' blends today in phonics class. Students had to listen to various words with blends and identify which 's' blend the word contained. Next, students wrote words and sentences containing the new blends.

RHS hosted TI 84 Calculator Training for our Juniors today! Thank you to Ms. Allen from Crowleys Ridge Co-op for coming and providing this training. Calculator usage on the ACT is an important skill to have to be successful. This class is just one of the steps we are taking to prepare our Juniors this year for the ACT. Starting next week will be Zoom Classes during their 2nd Period College and Career Readiness Classes. These Zoom classes are with a certified ACT Mastery Prep professional to continue their preparation for the March 29th ACT Exam they take here at Rivercrest.


Thank you to Mike Hamilton from U of A Extension Services and Lee Wesson from Wesson Farms for coming to school last week to talk with our Ag and EAST students about how drones can be used in agriculture. They provided some good insight and advice to the students on career paths using technology that are and will be available to them in the field of Agriculture.

Mrs. Dina Carr's class learned about the life of Dr. Suess and listened to several books written by him. The class celebrated his birthday by eating birthday cake. The Cat in the Hat (Amber Chipman) even came by for a visit.











Mrs. McClung's 10th grade English class took advantage of this beautiful winter day to read, The Princess Bride, outside.

An informational meeting for students interested in trying out for the 2023 Rivercrest Cheer program will be Mon., Feb. 27 at 6pm in the auditorium. Tryout clinic week will begin Mar. 6, with tryouts on the 10th. All students who participate in tryouts need a current physical.
