The Colts went on the road and made a statement against Highland with a 43-6 win.
Rivercrest got on the board first with a short TD run by Marcus Slayton. Highland tied the game 6-6 with 1:07 to go before half. The Colts then scored 2 times in 3 plays. Tekylun Sanders had. 34 yard run to set up a 13 yard run by Michael Rainer to take a 14-6 halftime lead. The first play of the second half, Rainer broke a 44 yard run to go up 22-6 and the Colts never looked back. The rest of the scoring came from a Koby Turner TD run, a 69 yard interception return for a TD by Jayden Young, and Cavonta Washington connected with Budda Harris for a 37 yard score.
Wyatt Lancaster had a monster game setting the single game tackles record with 23 tackles. He added 2 sacks. The record was previously held by Tyrone Henry back in 1993.
The Colts will host Gosnell next Friday at The TEZ.
Rivercrest Junior High attended the FBLA District II Fall Conference at First National Bank Arena in Jonesboro. The following students attended and officers were installed: Macy Weatherspoon (president), Laley Hattenhauer (vice president), Tylen Whitted (secretary), Emma Bell (treasurer), Alyssa Bell (reporter), Keira Holloway (parliamentarian), Kailen Brown, and Lathan Bolden.

It's GAME DAY and your Colts will hit the road for a big 4A-3 conference matchup against the Highland Rebels. Kickoff is slated for 7pm.
The Colts hammered Westside 45-6 last Friday to move them to 4-2 overall and 3-0 in conference play. The tougher part of the 4A-3 conference schedule has arrived. Athlete Michael Rainer has 355 receiving yards and 6TDs and has rushed for 342 yards and 6 more scores. Rainer has 2 special team’s TDs on the year also. RB Koby Turner is averaging a whopping 17.1 yards/carry and has run for 393 yards and 6TDs. QB Cavonta Washington has thrown for 854 yards and 13TDs and has completed 62.6% of his passes. Budda Harris has 291 receiving yards and 4TDs. Wyatt Lancaster leads the Colt defense with 59 tackles, 10TFL, and 4.5 sacks. Quinshunn Perry and Jayden Young have 34 tackles.
The Highland Rebels were on a 4 game winning streak before dropping their game to Blytheville last week, 32-20. The Rebels are 4-2 overall and 2-1 in conference. Highland will lean on a power running attack led by Keagan Statler who has rushed for 886 yards and 11TDs. Statler ran 16 times for 135 yards and 2TDs against Blytheville last week. QB Zac Huckabee is the other part of that running attack. Huckabee has rushed for 443 yards and 7TDs and has thrown for 451 yards and 2 scores. Trent Sullener has caught 12 passes for 178 yards. The Rebel defense is led by Gabe Hightower (74 tackles, 7TFL), Kalei Tokanong (46 tackles, 13TFL), and Statler (44 tackles).
The Colts lead the all-time series 7-1 and are 3-1 at Highland with their lone loss coming in 2007 (30-0). Rivercrest won last year’s contest 57-28. GO COLTS!

Mrs. Carr’s class read the story, Pumpkin to Carve, then answered comprehension questions. They talked about the sequential order of the steps to carve a pumpkin and got to put those steps into action. After the jack-o-lantern was completed, they cooked some of the pumpkin seeds in the oven and ate them. They plan to plant the rest of the seeds.

The Rivercrest Flu Shot Clinic is Thursday, October 19. Forms were sent home with JH and HS students yesterday. They will be sent home with elementary students next week.
Ana Elrod and Jennifer Lewis participated in the Arkansas Leadership Academy Teacher Leader Program at the State Capitol this week. This program prepares participants for formal and informal teacher leadership roles in their schools, districts, regions, state, and nation that allow them to lead from the classroom.

If you take the excitement of game day, add the pageantry of homecoming, and sprinkle in actual football weather, that's a recipe for a great evening of Friday night lights at The TEZ. The homecoming ceremony will start around 6:25pm with the game slated to kickoff at 7pm.
After throttling Harrisburg last week 69-14, the Colts, under the helm of Johnny Fleming, are 3-2 on the season and just one of three teams with a 2-0 start in the 4A-3 conference. QB Cavonta Washington completes nearly 63% of his passes and has thrown for 709 yards and 10TDs. ATH Michael Rainer continues to do Michael Rainer things, leading the Colts in rushing 342 yards 6TDs) and receiving (290 yards 4TDs) and has 2 special teams scores on the year. Rainer now holds school records for career receptions, receiving yards, and receiving TDs. RB Koby Turner is averaging over 14 yards/carry and has 245 rushing yards and 4TDs. WR Budda Harris has 249 yards receiving and 4TDs. That Colt defense is led by DE Wyatt Lancaster with 52 tackles, 8 TFL, 3.5 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles. S Jayden Young and DT Quinshunn Perry have 32 and 24 tackles respectively.
Coach Bobby Engle's Westside Warriors and their power running attack are trying to hunt down their first win on the season. The Warriors sit at 0-5 overall and 0-2 in conference. Westside dropped their game to Blytheville last week, 30-0.
The Colts lead the all-time series 13-2 and won last year's contest 42-14. This is the second time the Colts have faced Westside in their homecoming game with the other matchup coming in 2005 (W 33-20).
