Mrs. Benson's AP Environmental Science classes got to hear from Flint Richter and Jonathon Rasburry from Entegrity Energy Partners about solar energy and sustainability. The class got to see real data from our solar panels on campus as well as experiment with a solar energy kit.

Rivercrest 4 - Harrisburg 0 Rivercrest Colts were the first to get on the board in the first when Conner Vaughn scored. Jaxon Kilburn opened the game for the Colts. The starting pitcher gave up two hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking two. lan McClain led with two runs batted in. Keiran Morris went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead in hits. Rivercrest turned one triple play in the game. Morris stole four bases.

Rivercrest Lady Colts defeated Westside Warriors 8-2 on Tuesday thanks in part to five runs in the second inning. Chesnee Chandler singled, scoring one run, Mckyna Craig induced Mary Jo Booker to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Carleigh Williams grounded out, scoring one run, an error scored one run, and a passed ball scored another. The Lady Colts added one run in the third after Molli Austin singled. Laynee Gardner began the game for Rivercrest. The starting pitcher allowed nine hits and two runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out nine and walking two. Chandler and Ella Gonzalez were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits while hitting back-to-back. Austin, Karlee Cullom, Williams, Booker, and Chandler each drove in one run for Rivercrest. Taylor Routledge stole two bases.

Mrs. Dina Carr’s class visited the Arkansas State University Museum on Friday. They learned amazing things about historic Northeast Arkansas at the museum and enjoyed the hands-on learning. Special thanks to our volunteer, Jackson Ephlin.

Rivercrest Lady Colts defeated Manila Lady Lions 18-1 on Monday thanks in part to 13 runs in the first inning. The Lady Colts got on the board in the top of the first inning after Karlee Cullom singled, scoring one run, Katelyn Ostendorf drew a walk, scoring one run, Molli Austin drew a walk, scoring one run, Raven Powell singled, scoring two runs, Addison Woodward doubled, scoring three runs, an error scored one run, Ostendorf doubled, scoring one run, Chesnee Chandler singled, scoring one run, and an error scored two runs. Rivercrest added one run in the second. An error, a double by Powell, and an error helped Rivercrest extend their early lead in the third. The Lady Colts accumulated 10 hits in the game. Powell led with three runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Chandler went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead in hits. The Lady Colts turned two double plays in the game. Rivercrest Lady Colts were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Taylor Routledge had the most chances in the field with three. Ostendorf began the game for Rivercrest. She allowed four hits over three innings, striking out three.

Rivercrest easily dispatched Trumann on Friday, 12-1. A ground out by Jaxon Kilburn put the Colts on the board in the bottom of the first. Rivercrest flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring six runs on two hits to take a 7-1 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Ashtin Cagle that drove in two. Kilburn opened the game. The starting pitcher surrendered three hits and one run over four innings, striking out six and walking none. The Colts' Cagle made the most of their chances at the plate. The number eight hitter led the team with two hits in three at bats. Ralph, Cagle, Ralph, Kilburn, Jacob Atchley, and McClain each drove in one run for Rivercrest. Conner Vaughn paced the Colts with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game. Ralph stole two bases.

Mrs. Cain's Fashion and Design class have been designing a photo backdrop that can be utilized by the students at Rivercrest High. They did a great job incorporating elements of design such as color, patterns and textures to create this beautiful design. Students feel free to take your picture in front of it whenever you have the chance!

The Colts opened the scoring in the top of the third thanks to two doubles. Rivercrest first got on the board when Joe Louis Ralph doubled, scoring two runs. Conner Vaughn homered to right field, scoring two runs in the top of the fourth. Ralph stepped on the mound first for Rivercrest. The righty allowed two hits and one run over five innings, striking out four and walking one. Ralph and Jaxon Kilburn were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for the Colts while hitting back-to-back. Ralph and Vaughn each drove in two runs. Gabe McLevain paced Rivercrest with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing seven walks for the game. Rivercrest turned one double play in the game.

Cadet Challenge, JROTC's Physical Fitness Test, was conducted at Rivercrest HS during March. The purpose of this event is to test cadets physical ability for endurance, speed, strength and flexibility. It demonstrates how an exercise program can improve one's health, appearance and self-confidence. The five events are curl-ups (sit-ups), shuttle run, V-sit reach, one mile run and pullups or flex-arm hang.
