The Colts secured a spot in next week's state baseball tournament by defeating Cave City 1-0 in the opening game of the 3A-2 Regionals! You can catch the Colts in the semi-final round Friday, May 3 at noon where they will face the winner of the Melbourne-Harrisburg game.

Congratulations to Rivercrest Senior Jered Robertson who qualified for FBLA Nationals with a 4th Place finish in the Economics Competitive Event. Also in attendance were FBLA members Jacob Smith, Laynee Gardner, and Gabby Harris with Sponsor Coach Ronnie Dye.

Rivercrest will be hosting the Regional Baseball and Softball Tournaments next week.
Fourth grade students showed their school spirit by collecting coins to donate toward stocking the hospitality room for the event. Several baseball and softball players visited the students during recess and gratefully accepted the donation.

Rivercrest juniors heard from ANC and Big River Steel about the Steel Tech Academy opportunity. This program allows high school seniors to begin the two year program early and offers paid internships after graduation.

Both teams were strong on the bump on Wednesday, but Rivercrest Varsity Colts defeated Gosnell Varsity Pirates 3-0. Joe Louis Ralph started the game for Rivercrest Varsity Colts and recorded 21 outs.
Ralph struck out 10 batters on the day. The starting pitcher also allowed two hits and zero runs over seven innings while walking three.
A single by lan McClain put Rivercrest Varsity Colts on the board in the top of the third.
McClain went 2-for-3 at the plate as the right-handed hitter led the team with two runs batted in. Rivercrest Varsity Colts stole four bases in the game.

Despite seeing their 5-run lead whittled down by the end, Rivercrest held on for an 8-7 victory. Harrisburg closed the gap by scoring on a walk, a walk, an error, a home run, and a balk.
The Colts made the score 4-1 in the bottom of the second after Conner Vaughn singled, scoring one run, and lan McClain doubled, scoring three runs.
Rivercrest extended their early lead with two runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI singles by Jacob Atchley and Vaughn.
Vaughn began the game for the Colts. The left-handed pitcher allowed three hits and three runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking seven.
Jaxon Kilburn appeared in relief for Rivercrest.
The Colts amassed 10 hits in the game. Atchley, Gabe McLevain, and Vaughn each collected two hits. McClain went 1-for-4 at the plate as they led the team with three runs batted in. Rivercrest turned one double play in the game.
The Colts will face the Gosnell Pirates in the District championship game.


Brooklyn Moore collected four hits in four at bats, as the Lady Colts defeated Harrisburg 15-0 on Tuesday at Gosnell during the 3A-3 District Tournament. Moore tripled in the third inning, doubled in the fourth inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the second inning. An error put Rivercrest on the board in the bottom of the first. They added two runs in the second after Harrisburg committed an error. The Lady Colts scored six runs on five hits in the bottom of the third inning. Molli Austin doubled, scoring two runs, Mary Jo Booker singled, scoring two runs, Moore tripled, scoring one run, and Karlee Cullom grounded out, scoring one run.
Rivercrest scored six runs on six hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Booker singled, scoring one run, Carleigh Williams singled, scoring two runs, Moore doubled, scoring one run, Cullom singled, scoring one run, and Chesnee Chandler singled, scoring one run. Laynee Gardner began the game. The righty gave up two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out eight and walking one. Rivercrest collected 16 hits in the game. Booker led the Lady Colts with three runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Austin, Cullom, Williams, and Chandler each collected multiple hits for Rivercrest.


Please note the remaining ATLAS summative testing dates for students in grades 3-10. Students are encouraged to be in attendance, get plenty of rest, and do their best on the test!
