ATLAS testing is underway, and it’s more than just a test. These scores are a big part of our district’s letter grade, and they also help determine student placement for:

✅ Academic supports & interventions
✅ Required math intervention for 3rd–8th graders scoring Level 1
But here’s the good news — students can demonstrate growth at ANY level. That’s a win in itself!

Students in Medical Detective class were able to label and dissect a sheep brain. The brains each belonged to a different “patient” and they were tasked with locating a tumor and providing a diagnosis.

Jacob Atchley drew a walk, scoring one run, Lexx Latham was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Aden Lucius drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, Jayden Ralph grounded out, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, Joe Louis Ralph doubled, scoring one run, and Jaxon Kilburn singled, scoring one run. The Colts extended their early lead with five runs in the bottom of the second thanks to RBI singles by Keiran Morris, Ralph, Kilburn, and Atchley.
Kilburn stepped on the mound first for Rivercrest.
The starting pitcher gave up one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out six and walking one.
Morris, Ralph, and Kilburn each collected two hits for Rivercrest. Morris, Ralph, Atchley, Kilburn, and Brenan Dawson each drove in two runs for the Colts. Morris and Kilburn each stole multiple bases.

The Colts scored five runs on three hits in the bottom of the second inning. Ralph singled, scoring two runs, Atchley drew a walk, scoring one run, Lexx Latham was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Lucius singled, scoring one.
Ralph began the game for Rivercrest. The pitcher gave up three hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out five and walking one.
They piled up 10 hits in the game. Morris, Ralph, Ralph, and Lucius each collected two hits for the Colts.
Ralph led Rivercrest with three runs batted in. The infielder went 2-for-2 on the day. The Colts had patience at the plate, amassing seven walks for the game. Morris and Atchley led the team with two bases on balls each. Ralph stole three bases.
SOFTBALL WINS UPDATE! 🥎

The Lady Colts jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Karlee Cullom singled, scoring one run, Katelyn Ostendorf doubled, scoring one run, and an error scored three runs.
They added one run in the second. Addison Johnson scored after tagging up, making the score 6-1.
A passed ball extended Rivercrest’s lead to 7-2 in the bottom of the third inning.
Ostendorf earned the win for the Lady Colts. The hurler gave up five hits and three runs (two earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking none.
Ostendorf and Emme Weldon were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in three runs for Rivercrest. Ella Gonzalez went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Lady Colts in hits. Johnson stole two bases. They ran wild on the base paths, piling up four stolen bases for the game. Rivercrest turned one double play in the game.

Kennett Indians were the first to get on the board in the first.
Kennett Varsity Indians added one run in the third. Kennett Indians scored on a wild pitch, making the score 2-0.
Rivercrest jumped back into the lead in the top of the fourth inning after Ella Gonzalez doubled to right field, and Taylor Routledge doubled down the right field line, each scoring two runs.
Katelyn Ostendorf earned the win for the Lady Colts. The hurler gave up three hits and two runs (one earned) over three innings, striking out four and walking one. Hannah Higgins collected the save.

Mrs. Teague’s 7th grade Career Development class took on the Marshmallow Challenge and quickly learned - architecture & construction is harder than it looks! Only one group’s tower stood tall, but every student made connections to real-world careers in construction, manufacturing and transportation through lessons of teamwork, problem-solving, and a little bit of marshmallow madness!

Aden Lucius collected three hits in three at bats, as the Rivercrest Colts defeated West Memphis Christian 15-0 on Wednesday. Lucius doubled in the first inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the third inning.
Rivercrest Colts won thanks in part to 12 runs in the first inning. Joe Louis Ralph singled, scoring one run, Jaxon Kilburn doubled, scoring one run, Lexx Latham doubled, scoring one run, Lucius singled, scoring one run, Ashton Harris laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring two runs, Ralph doubled, scoring one run, Kilburn doubled, scoring two runs, and Lucius doubled, scoring three runs. A single by Brenan Dawson extended the Rivercrest Varsity Rivercrest Varsity Colts lead to 14-0 in the bottom of the third inning.

Rivercrest Varsity Colts amassed 11 hits in the game. Ralph and Kilburn each collected multiple hits for the Colts. Keiran Morris, Harris, and Lucius each stole multiple bases for Rivercrest. Colts ran wild on the base paths, collecting eight stolen bases for the game.

Zoiey Fox’s Clutch Hitting Propels Lady Colts To Victory Over Newport
Zoiey Fox drove in four runs on three hits to lead the Lady Colts past Newport 15-3 on Tuesday. Fox doubled in the first inning, scoring two runs, and singled in the fifth inning, scoring two.
The Lady Colts won thanks in part to eight runs in the fifth inning. Taylor Routledge tripled, scoring one run, Karlee Cullom singled, scoring two runs, Hannah Higgins singled, scoring one run, Lani Latham singled, scoring one run, Fox singled, scoring two runs, and Routledge drew a walk, scoring one run.
Rivercrest got on the board in the top of the first inning after Ella Gonzalez singled, scoring one run, Higgins singled, scoring two runs, and Fox doubled, scoring two runs.
They added one run in the second. Gonzalez singled to the right side of the infield, making the score 6-0.
Halyn Belford earned the win for Rivercrest. The starter gave up four hits and three runs (one earned) over three innings, striking out three and walking four. Katelyn Ostendorf tossed two innings of shutout ball for the Lady Colts in relief. The pitcher allowed zero hits, striking out two and walking none.
They piled up 16 hits in the game. Gonzalez, Fox, and Higgins each collected three hits for Rivercrest. Cullom and Latham each collected multiple hits for the Lady Colts. Fox stole two bases. They stole five bases in the game. Rivercrest turned one double play in the game.

Rivercrest has received state approval to move forward with a 4-day week calendar for the 2025–2026 school year! 🗓️👏
📊 The Arkansas Department of Education (DESE) is closely monitoring student growth and proficiency—including performance on ATLAS assessments—in all districts using alternative calendars. That means every assessment counts.

RHS Boys' Track and Field finished as runner-up yesterday in the Wellman-Redskin Relays at Pocahontas. Rivercrest took 1st place in the High Jump, Triple Jump, and Long Jump as well as 4x100 meter relay and runner up in the 4x200 meter relay and 200 meter dash.
Tekylun Sanders qualified for state in the Long Jump.
Rivercrest Colts won big over Osceola Seminoles 18-2.
Rivercrest got on the board in the top of the first inning after a dropped third strike scored one run, and Keiran Morris hit an inside the park home run, scoring three runs.
