This week is National School Bus Safety Week. Help us keep our students safe by observing these safety rules!
-School safety starts at the bus stop. Share these tips with your children:
Arrive at the bus stop five minutes early.
Stand five giant steps away from the curb.
Wait until the bus stops, the door opens, and the driver says it’s okay before stepping onto the bus.
Be sure the bus driver can always see you, and you can see the bus driver.
-Yellow lights on a school bus indicate the bus is preparing to stop. If you’re driving, slow down, stay alert, and watch out for children.
-See the school bus stop-arm? Time to STOP. Racing past the arm puts young lives in jeopardy.
-School in session means more children are outside waiting for the bus during certain hours. Slow down and watch for children playing and gathering near the bus stop.

Mark your calendars!

IT’S GAME DAY and the Colts will be hosting a physical Walnut Ridge team for a huge 3A-3 conference game.
The Colts are 6-0 overall and 3-0 in conference after beating Hoxie last Friday 42-7. QB Cavonta Washington has thrown for 1,188 yards and 16TDs and has run for 563 yards and 7 more TDs. Jayden Young went over 100 yards receiving last week and now has 315 yards and 4TDs and has rushed for over 200 yards and 6 more scores. WR Buddah Harris leads the Colts with 440 receptions yards and 5TDs. Jakavion Williams (234yds 4TDs) and Keiran Morris (193yds 3TDs) round out that great group of receivers. Young also leads the Colt defense with 32 tackles and 4 interceptions. Tekylun Sanders (30 tackles) and Nolan Williams (30 tackles) have been solid.
Walnut Ridge moved to 5-1 overall and 2-1 in conference after blasting Piggott last week 43-8. The Bobcats’ rushing attack has bullied its way to being one of the best in the state averaging over 350 yards/game. QB Jersie Cunningham, despite being out last week, leads the 3A classification in rushing with 852 yards and 5TDs. Cunningham is averaging 170.4 yards/game. All-state running back Enrique Perez has rushed for 478 yards and 6TDs. Fullback Jayden Saulsbury has run for 327 yards and 5TDs. They haven’t thrown the ball a lot this year but when they have TE Trevor Augustine has been productive with 5 catches for 111 yards and a score. Brogan Tate (23 tackles), River Hancock (23 tackles), and Gunner Thielemier (21 tackles) lead the Bobcat defense.
The Colts lead the all-time series 4-0. These schools will meet for the first time since 2017. The Colts will be looking to stay unbeaten. The Bobcats are trying to play their way back into being a conference championship contender. Make plans to join us at The TEZ and cheer on the red and gray. GO COLTS!
