Whether your student is looking to become a certified welder, earn their CNA, complete a 2 year nursing degree, or head to a 4 year college, paying for college can feel overwhelming, but breaking it down step-by-step makes it manageable!

How to Pay for College - A Guide for Arkansas Students breaks this process down step by step to help prepare you and your student for this journey. This resource will be shared with seniors in classes as well.
https://edfinancial.cld.bz/How-to-Pay-for-College-2026-2027

Rivercrest's Career Coach, David Diagostino, will help guide students and parents through this process as Federal and State financial aid applications open October 1st. You can reach out via email at david.diagostino@smccolts.com with any questions. A look at step 1 is below.

Step 1: Get Ready & Gather Documents
Before starting any applications, assemble your required info:
Student & Parent Information: Legal names, Social Security Numbers, dates of birth, and personal email addresses (do not use school email addresses!).
Financial Information: 2025 federal tax records and details on any untaxed income

Another great resource are virtual financial aid nights hosted by ADHE and ASLA. For more information and to register for one of these virtual meetings you can use the link below.

A small change in how you ask can make a big difference.
This year, every Rivercrest classroom will use a daily learning target so students know exactly what they're learning and can tell you what they learned.

Tonight, try this:

Instead of "What did you do at school today?"

Ask: "What do you know now that you didn't know this morning?"

You might be surprised by what they say. 💬

Rivercrest is investing in the heart of our community, our families.
Families investing in their children’s education is one of the most important parts of building a community where people want to live, raise their children, and thrive. But we also know that working, raising a family, and juggling school and everyday life is not always easy. Sometimes every family can use a little encouragement and a little step up.

That is what Neighbor by Neighbor is all about.

Our goal is simple: recognize families, encourage student success, increase parent involvement, and connect our local businesses and community with the families they serve.

This is just the first of many Neighbor by Neighbor Family Packs we will give throughout the year!

A very special thank you to NEXT Power for its $20,000 investment in Rivercrest families, and to the businesses, organizations, and individuals who are already joining us.

And there is room for EVERYONE to be a Neighbor. No donation is too small. A restaurant gift card, family meal, movie tickets, an oil change, home improvement gift card, family experience, event tickets, or financial contribution can all make a difference.

Want to help? Take a look at the flyer below to see how you can become part of Neighbor by Neighbor.

One student. One family. One neighbor at a time.

🚨 Afternoon Pick-Up Traffic Changes – August 13 & 14

Parents and families, please be aware of a temporary change to our afternoon pick-up traffic pattern due to construction on campus.

📍 For today, August 13, and tomorrow, August 14:

We will have two designated entrances—one for HS/JRHS (Between JRHS and Baseball Fields) and one for Elementary (Regular Entrance and Exit).
Vehicles will follow a clockwise traffic pattern when entering campus.
Please follow the traffic flow and exit only at the designated exit locations.
⚠️ This change is temporary and will only be in place for these two days.

We will return to our original traffic pattern on Tuesday, August 18.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work around the ongoing campus construction. We appreciate your help in keeping afternoon pick-up safe and orderly for everyone!
