Thank you to Mike Hamilton from U of A Extension Services and Lee Wesson from Wesson Farms for coming to school last week to talk with our Ag and EAST students about how drones can be used in agriculture. They provided some good insight and advice to the students on career paths using technology that are and will be available to them in the field of Agriculture.

Mrs. Dina Carr's class learned about the life of Dr. Suess and listened to several books written by him. The class celebrated his birthday by eating birthday cake. The Cat in the Hat (Amber Chipman) even came by for a visit.

The Academies at Rivercrest High School received incentive funds through the partnership with the PEER Network to honor student growth.
The funds will be used by the PEER teachers to provide incentives to students and teachers continuously meeting growth goals.
The senior class is doing a raffle basket to raise money for class funds - drawing entries are $5 for one entry or $20 for five. You can enter as many times as you want. The winner will be drawn on Thursday, March 16th. The basket includes a variety of items, including a pass for the Homecoming Rivercrest football game and the Class of 2024 Senior Night game (for one person). Please support the class by entering! Many items are St. Patrick's Day themed, but not limited to. Items have been generously donated to us by local businesses. The value of the basket is over $100.

With the RHS boys basketball team taking down the #1 seed - Mountain View - in first round regional action Wednesday night, there is much excitement about the second round game on Friday. Because there is an overwhelming number of students, faculty, staff, and parents who plan to attend the game, school will dismiss at 1PM on Friday, February 24.

Rivercrest Elementary will celebrate Dr Seuss - Read Across America Week February 28 - March 3. There will be a fun dress-up theme each day that correlates to a Dr. Seuss book. Don't miss out on the fun!

Rivercrest Elementary will have pre-k registration on Thursday, April 6 in the RES Parent Center from 8:30-11:00 am and 12:30-3:00 pm.

Only completed packets with all documentation will be accepted for registration. Packets will not be accepted before April 6 at 8:30 am. Numbers will be handed out upon arrival and registration will take place in that order.

Students in grades 9-12 can travel to the game on the pep bus as space allows. Requirements to ride the bus include:
-A SIGNED PERMISSION SLIP from a parent (texts and phone calls will not be counted as permission).
-The ability to purchase a TICKET FROM GOFAN and present it on a phone at the gate. *Tickets should not be bought until Mrs. LeeAnn Graham informs students to proceed with ticket purchase.

RJHS 8th graders attended the Mississippi County Schools Career Day yesterday at Blytheville High School Arena. Students had the opportunity to visit with colleges, career reps, local businesses, and community partners.
The Rivercrest Elementary Valentine's Dance for 4th-6th grade students will be Friday, February 17 from 6pm until 8pm in the elementary cafeteria. Admission will be $5 at the door, and concessions will be available.
