Students in Mrs. Elrod’s Medical Detective class completed a sheep brain dissection. This was the conclusion of their unit on the central and peripheral nervous system.

FCCLA Competed in Regional Star Events Tuesday! Libby Vinson, Halyn Belford, Jayden Griggs and Maggie Hensley all made silver and will be advancing to state competition in Little Rock later this year!

For the second time in as many weeks, the Colts shutout their opponent to advance in the 4A state playoffs. This week, Rivercrest blanked Gravette 40-0 to push the Colts into the state quarterfinals. Koby Turner put on a show scoring four touchdowns in the game. Turner ran 14 times for 124 yards and 3 scores and hauled in a pass for a touchdown. Michael Rainer had a big night also. Rainer hauled in 4 passes for 73 yards and a touchdown and had an electrifying score on a punt return from 89 yards out. For good measure, he intercepted a pass on defense. Cavonta Washington went 17/21 for 183 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Colts were led on defense by Tekylun Sanders who notched 9 tackles with 4 of those going for a loss. Jayden Young grabbed 2 interceptions and had an 103 yard interception return erased by a penalty just before half. Quinshunn Perry had 7 tackles, 2 tackles for a loss. Marcus Slayton had 6 tackles and an interception. Wyatt Lancaster and Keiran Morris added 6 tackles each. The Rivercrest defense has pitched back-to-back shutouts in the playoffs. The only other time in school history that happened was 2003 when the Colts beat Mountain View (39-0) and Ozark (31-0). The Colts will travel to Arkadelphia for a rematch of last year's state quarterfinals matchup. If you can't make the trip, we'll have all the action for you live on Rivercrest Athletics. GO COLTS!

Dakota Rinderer was recognized today for going above and beyond in bringing awareness of inclusion and building relationships for students at Rivercrest Schools through her volunteer work in Special Olympics. Pictured are Major John Northcutt-JROTC instructor, Theresa Book-Special Olympics Coordinator, Dakota Rinderer, Samantha Haven-Dakota's mom, and Dina Carr-Special Education Teacher.
