Your Input is Needed: Rivercrest High School's 3rd Annual Senior Life Skills Day!

Parents, guardians, and community members, we are looking for your valuable feedback to make this year's Senior Life Skills Day the best one yet! We want to make sure the skills we teach are relevant and up-to-date. Please take a moment to review the list of life skills taught at last year's event and share your thoughts.
New ideas: What essential life skills should we incorporate this year?
Revisions: Are there any skills we should remove or update from the previous list?

Your perspective as a parent or community member is crucial for ensuring our seniors are truly prepared for the next chapter. Ideas can be shared using this link: https://forms.gle/wmm6viqdc8ALBe2K8
Thank You!

AP World History:
Autopsy of an Empire Project
Learning Objective: Students will be able to examine the rise and fall of land-based empires by completing detailed graphic organizers and “autopsies” of six major empires from 1450–1750.

In this hands-on historical investigation, students became historians and forensic examiners, performing “autopsies” on once-powerful empires including the Ottoman, Safavid, Mughal, Qing, Tokugawa, and Russian Empires. Working in groups, they researched each empire’s political, social, economic, and cultural structures, then created illustrated autopsy posters and creative obituaries showing how and why each empire declined.

The project combined research, analysis, and creativity—culminating in colorful, historically accurate displays that make the story of early modern empires come alive.

Rivercrest sent a delegation of students, based on ATLAS scores, to participate in Hemingway Day at the Crowley's Ridge Nature Center in Jonesboro, AR, on Thursday, November 23. Ernest Hemingway was quite the outdoorsman, and his love for nature was evident in his writings. Students participated in lure-making, fly-tying, and fish and wildlife identification. Students also participated in a book reading of In Our Time. Students were treated to Mazzio's pizza afterward. Mr. Stoddard and Coach Dye chaparonned.
